This movie was made for the global audience more than for India, just like Slum. No songs and heavy, typical for abroad. The length may be typically Bollywood but the Controversy and the ignoring of Mumbai while going ahead for the release world wide all clearly shows the intent. Here are some snippets to show how MNIK is faring post controversy.

8. A week before the film's release, Pakistani underworld gangs have released lakhs of pirated DVDs in Karachi for Rs 90 each and even uploaded the film on the Internet. Though Pakistanis had banned Khan's films after no Pakistani player was picked for IPL 3, his comments changed the situation. The pirated version is reported to done business of more than 100 crores. 25 sites are showing MNIK in Pakistan. 

9.My Name Is Khan’ has been released in 120 theatres in US and Canada. Promoters of movie reported from US, "'My Name Is Khan' registered brisk sale of advance tickets. Being released on Friday and followed by a long-weekend, huge lines are expected to be seen outside movie theatres in cities and states having sizeable Indian American population like New York and New Jersey."

10.  Bangladesh is waiting for the DVD's as Indian movies are not screened there. 

11. If things go according to plan, some members of the visiting South African contingent could be seen catching the Shah Rukh Khan-starrer My Name is Khan at a city theatre any of these days. And the ones most eager to watch the film are the players’ wives and girlfriends..... more
