I simply cannot comprehend the idea of the Harvard return, Sibal's contention that it is OK for a Foreign University to set up shop in India without a Quota or reservation, But Indian Universities are doomed if deemed. Here we see Ponmudi asking for complete scrap of all deemed. Touch your heart and say is all well with the Government universities? We hear Chancellors selected on political lines, amassing money and standards falling by the year. And now to make it seem that no Indian is worthy to start and operate his own university but foreigners are capable is a typical mindset of a slave. It is akin to saying Toyota can buy Tata but Tata cannot buy Toyota.
Don't we know how they became deemed? Don't we know why a blacklist gets ready just when elections are round the corner? Don't we know that many politicians have stakes in most universities? And to expect that they will start universities, invest and give 65% seats to government even if they do not take any grant from them is absurd. Here the minister mocks at how they open centers outside state and abroad- Isn't that their right? As per demand so the supply- what is wrong? Using a populist stance to takeover?
