Broadcast tribunal TDSAT on 24Th October, directed channel distributors MSM Discovery and Star Den to supply signals of Star and Sony group of channels to Arasu Cable Corporation, the Multi System Operator (MSO) owned by the Tamil Nadu government.
TDSAT bench headed by Justice Arun Kumar directed MSM Discovery and Star Den, distributors of Star and Sony group of channels, to supply their signals to the four head-ends established by Arasu Television in Thanjavur, Vellore, Trichirapalli and Triunelveli. Passing an interim order, the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal also directed Star Den to supply its decoders and sim within five days and MSM Discovery in three days to Arasu Cable Corporation.
The tribunal also fixed a subscriber base of 20,000 for the state-government controlled MSO for signing agreement with the broadcasters.
Channel plus owned by Marans submitted a reply to the petition and the petitioner has requested for 10 days time. The next hearing is on 14Th November. So Sun may not be officially available till then. However news is both Sun and Star Vijay are availabale in most places even from Arasu linked Cable operators and everyone knows how.
