MM2 vs Jno1

The climax in Maanadu Myuladu-2 is not far away. On October 25Th the finals will be live in Nehru Stadium. The finals of Season one was in February 2008 which saw Sathish Jayshree bag the prize amidst controversy about ignoring and insulting a very disappointed Raghav Preetha who came second then.

11 contestants participated in this season two out of which 8 are in semifinals. This after 25 weeks! In fact 6 were eliminated but 3 joined again in Reentry round. This season is also with its share of controversies. Ranjeet and Aishwarya were eliminated on some flimsy grounds, in fact what was told was some religiuous reason not befitting Kalaignar's party's morality. [ details better not told here] There is also bias being reported in various forums against Priyadarshini and bala. The favourites in the show are Gokul- Kavi, Karthik-neepa,Ganesh- aarthi and Bala-priya. The other semi finalists are Shakthi - Yogini, Sai - Swetha, Aakash and sruthi and Lokesh and Suchibala. From now on it is all by audience poll, where anyone can vote any number of times for a fee from their mobile for any number of contestants.

In fact the show was rocking most of the time, with grandeur settings, Themes and team spirit , Kala knows how to carry along with the Audience pulse. But nevertheless this season was not as popular as season one in spite of it being for 21/2 hours non stop every Sunday night. Probable reasons are the IPL fever in between and also the length of this program. The competition was more Intense. Anu Hassan and some musical programs of Jaya TV and now Mamathi Chari are all taking away some TRP's. MM-2 continues to be the only TRP top hundred program from Kalignar TV but not in all weeks. The Judges were gorgeous Kushboo, Rambha and Kala herself. Though Kushboo and Kala were outspoken and Rambha nice to all, the scores seldom reflected their comments. Kushboo especially was in firing line in most of the forums for a biased scoring. Rambha was the darling of most of the Internet viewers. Kala is again accused of bias for some of the contestants as in season -1. Special programs on important occasions were a treat to watch.

Jodi Number one season three [part5] is also rocking. Out of 8 jodi's three have been eliminated and five are in the fray.The Jodi's are Rajesh- Sushasini,Sarath- Preethi,
Micheal- Hema [ Earlier rounds had Mahaendran who was replaced by Michael in the middle],Sanjay- Pooja,Nethran- Arunadevi,venkat- Nisha,Tinku- Santhoshi and Ravi- Pooja. Of them Venkat-Nisha the Runners of earlier season, Sarath-preethi[ preethi was one of the winners in earlier season pairing with Tinku] and Ravi-Pooja are eliminated. The compere's are the usual DD and Deepak who are as classy as ever before. The Judges are Jeeva an accomplished and rising star in Tamil fil industry, Aishwarya Dhanush- Daughter of Rajinikanth and Wife of young super her Dhanush, and the charming and straight forward Sangeetha who needs no introduction to these show.

Sangeetha as usual is crisp and to the point in her judgements with out getting influenced by the opinion of her co judges, as always. Jeeva is a great surprise. He is great as a judge with a keen eye while observing and apt comments. Aishwarya is improving from every show and now she has earned the reputation of being the most strict judge from whom getting marks is the most difficult. Her comments in the earlier rounds were repetition of some adjectives but as the show went on she proved that like her father her way is a separate way. She is a performing dancer, albeit in very few live shows and is also an associate director for Dhanush's brother Selvaraghavan's forthcoming Tamil film Ayurthil oruvan. Unlike MM-2 here the comments and Marks tally and no one has got more than 8 from Aish, so far. The sets of course are mediocre sometimes even boring. The dances are not as grand as MM-2 but still this program has a charm. With more rounds still pending may be we will see something new. One of the rounds Black and white was well received by the audience.

Regarding the performances, Tinku as usual cleverly mixes Drama, Emotion and Innovation to get proper attention, praises and prizes, week after week. Michael is the darling of the Judges. Sanjay-Pooja are stylish, Aruna is a Folk expert and Suhasini was praised for their folk round. There is more to come
