Television is Milk, Papers cow!!

If Newspapers are cows, Television is Milk.

Cows are very useful for Humans. Their Milk is a healthy drink and curds, butter and cheese are useful derivatives from them. Even their dung is used as fuel. Their skin is used for leather. Some love their meat and the rest worship them. It is used as labor in agriculture and their males are used for sports and labor. The methane gas released by cows is supposed to be a significant contributor to the increase in greenhouse gases. . Their horns are used for making musical instrument. Their Urine is considered sacred by some and is of medicinal value. The teeth of cow are used in scientific experiments. Thus no other animal is as useful as Cow.
Newspapers are like Cows. There are very useful to humans like cows. They are useful in many ways. For news reading, being its primary objective opinion building, advertising, Jobs, Entertainment, Time pass and source for debates, chats and evidence being there secondary uses. They are of educational value and their contents are many times worth preserving. They enhance language and vocabulary. They have formed many governments and toppled many. They have built careers and demolished few.

After this usage they still have a value. They are used in groceries to pack items [even today], They are used to clean, and they are recycled and used for making decorative items. There are 25 other very useful ways of old newspapers. Just like cows there is no end for its use. Like Cows they chew the cud. They extend the life of any news by re analyzing them, looking at them at different angles and are major source for historians. And like cows, Newspapers are mostly color blind [comparatively]

Now how do I justify calling television as milk? Well is it a product from newspaper? Atleast the people in it are mostly from vernacular media. Like Milk, News in Television has shorter life. For example, I see Raj Thackeray episode still being researched in Indian newspapers till today while it is archive for television. The availability of so many news channels in India [nearly fifty and more to come] has resulted in the need for faster and new news. Thus they get old and expire sooner. Fresh milk is the most preferred milk and similarly is fresh news in television. That is why every hour we see breaking news and flash news. Like Milk, Television has become an integral part of human today. You can live without a cow but not without its milk. Similarly many have stopped reading but not watching. Milk makes us healthy and over use of it makes us fatter. Over use of television make us couch potatoes and fatter.

Television is the most used media for religious propaganda today. Milk is sacred. You can use milk in many ways. Make butter, Yogurt or cheese. It is used in most sweets. Television news and serials can be preserved for future viewing. It is the most preferred advertising medium today.And its usage is increasing day by day.

Milk can be condensed or diluted. So are news in Television. All milk look same but companies package it different. Same news, but packaged differently by channels. Indians like Masala Milk in night. Televisions have enough masala for the night.

The difference is also starking. Milk is white, while television today is anything but white.

Today we have one rupee news papers and even improper use of it is a profit for us. While television is expensive Recurring expense and profit invisible. Well cows give us profits while we have to buy milk

Well I have to try harder now to see more similarities. But one thing is for sure. Most channels in India are milking money today. Atleast by the news sense the similarity is more profound.
