The program is a competition between present TV artists, who may not be regular dancers. They are trained by an assigned choreographer and use the facilities of a renowned dance school. The stakes are a car for one and many phones cell phones television and mp players for each event. Each artiste has their own fans and they have an implicit intent to increase their fan following by their performance. So they try hard.

They have Judges appointed by the Channel to give judgment and choose a winner and eliminate one team from each program. Rajini is not a great dancer but most of his songs are super duper hit. Style is the reason. Even simbu is not so great a dancer even though he thinks so. But his style has a following. So what makes a winner? In the format the final winner is selected by the audience by way of SMS votes. Here the vote may be for performance, for the person or for his looks. Or may be a multiple of these reasons or may be something else. There have been various discussions in various forums about the judgments of these reality shows and without a conclusion.

Jodi number one season one was a super duper hit. It was a new thing for the Tamil audience and the performers were classy and so were the judges. There was unity even though they were competing. This is visibly missing in season Two. And the choice of Judges is though popularly correct practically wrong. Simbu and Sangeetha are too young to judge seniors. And in an attempt to prove their mettle they tend to act bossy and show tantrums. They also look out for opportune footage and the channel is ok with this because it increases its TRP. But can it be at the cost of an actor’s image? Can it be at the cost of a performer’s self respect? Is there a case for prithiviraj?

If he can substantiate that there was ulterior motive and if he can prove that it was pre planned, he has a strong case. And can simbu file a defamation suit for the Interview in nakeeran? The channel could have shown restraint while editing and aired both side of the story. And it was raging by simbu which was aired. So defamation may not hold good unless simbu is out.

By being eliminated, Prithiviraj and especially Uma Riyaz score all sympathy votes. This is seen as a victory for Simbu by his fans and scorn by scores of others. If he had made up with prithivi he would have earned more respect. But does he have that class?
It is too early to say. Some how I feel Simbu will respect the age of the senior pair and cajole them to be back. Imagine the ratings then?

In the latest issue of Nakeeran Uma has told simbu is unfit to be a judge. Prithivi has challenged Simbu to dance with him in the same floor and also to mention the various forms in his dance if he knows it. It is also written that simbu pressurized the Channel with presence of lawyers and hooligans to let him remain as Judge. Well still I feel Simbu will be a true hero and bring them back without insisting on an apology. Without Uma and prithivi there is no more competition left. Tingu and venkat are clear a winner so where is the element of suspense? And if the KKK pair barges in again in the wild round more suspicion on partially will loom. If venkat pair wins it would seem they sacrificed Tingu to save their skin. No other pair can make it. It is tough for Vijay TV to make a decision.

It is not enough if justice is done. But it should seem to be done. Carefully watch Sundaram master when he delivers. He looks and sounds authentic. He does not talk much but he is always on the dot. And the way he moved his hips for the Sivaji number increases his esteem. When Irfan pair danced, I felt it was very good. But when Master said a few points I felt he was correct. And Sangeetha further substantiated. Here it seemed to be done. But does words like’ pudikalai and I do not know why’ seem like it is done?

We all know what the stakes for the performers is. Now what is the stake for the Actor? He keeps telling that it is because of his interest in Dance he is here. A child with a thump in mouth may believe it. What does he gain by not compromising? Will it discolor his hero image? If his crying did not why should this? . If Nakeeran made two cover stories from this episode, Kumudam Reporter has one more cover story. Same Actor different controversy. This time it is about whether he ill-treated his co artiste in his forthcoming film shoot. Do you see a pattern? If he makes a visible earnest attempt to bring back prithivi pair he will become Nallavan[ good Man]. Will it then bring bad publicity to his forthcoming Film Kettavan[ Bad Man]. Simbu is a clever man. He is earning publicity plus money for his presence in the program, Poor Prithivi become a victim of his stunt or is he also part of it? When Simbu shot Manmathan[ God of Love] there were many stories about how simbu is a womanizer. Similarly prior to vallavan he flexed his muscles. So there is a pattern. Or am I seeing more than what it is?
